Cambridge AWiSE is a voluntary regional network for women in SET and women wishing to return to SET after a career break. Cambridge AWiSE members include post-graduate students, post-doctoral research scientists, women wanting to return to work after a career break, women who run their own businesses, academics and women in industry. We're sure you'll enjoy being part of our organisation. By becoming a member, you will help us to continue to offer great networking opportunities and provide information, inspiration and support. Fill in a membership form now and send it back to us. Yearly membership costs just Ł30 (Ł10 for women on a low wage, Ł5 for students) and this year it will only cost Ł4 for members to attend most of our events (that's a Ł1 saving from last year!!), whereas the charge for non-members is now Ł8. So go on, what have you got to loose!!

What are the benefits of membership?

Networking Opportunities - Cambridge AWiSE provides networking opportunities, both professional and social, through our regular meetings. These events give women from different fields the chance to meet each other and increase their personal visibility.

Meetings - Cambridge AWiSE runs meetings with different themes. We are currently running meetings concentrating on personal development and career enhancement. Our members get reduced entry fees to these events. In 2007-2008 members pay just Ł4 to attend our events (a Ł1 saving!!), whereas the charge for non-members has risen to Ł8.

Information - Cambridge AWiSE provides a source of information relevant to women working in SET. As well as our website, we also run a mailing list to distribute news and events. If you are a member of Cambridge AWiSE you can post information to this list yourself.

Mentoring - Membership of Cambridge AWiSE allows you free access to the MentorSET Women's Mentoring Scheme. MentorSET finds independent mentors for women working in SET. It also gives women the opportunity to become a mentor themselves.

Leadership Opportunities - Cambridge AWiSE provides leadership opportunities for our active members. How about joining the Steering Group, offering ideas for an event, contributing ideas and articles for our newsletter and website?

Making your voice heard - Cambridge AWiSE publicises issues affecting women working in SET and brings them to a wider audience. The larger we are, the louder our voice!

Inspiration and Support - Working in a male dominated environment can make women feel isolated. We hope that being a member of Cambridge AWiSE will provide you with information, inspiration and support.

Who can join?

Cambridge AWiSE aims to "retain and enhance the participation of women in science, engineering and technology fields in both industry and academia".
Anyone who supports these aims can join.

How do I join?

To join, download a membership form and send it back to Cambridge AWiSE with your payment.
Alternatively, send an email to info@camawise.org.uk with your contact details and an application form and payment details will be sent to you in the post.

Cambridge AWiSE is run by a Voluntary Steering Group made up of women from a wide range of SET fields and at all stages of their careers.
