CamAWiSE AGM - new appointments

This year's AGM was held on Thursday 22nd May online, where nominations were made for the roles of Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.

Longstanding steering committee member and CamAWISE contributor, Isabel Tingay, remains in position of Secretary, with all the other roles now being occupied by new members of our organisation.

Karolina Spalek has taken over as our new Treasurer. Having initially managed the new website launch, she will now be covering off our monthly financial overviews and the day to day management of our finances.

Sofía del Pozo is new to our organisation, but is making a big impact very quickly. Working alongside Agnieszka Rutkowska, she is our Deputy Chair and has thrown herself into our 2025 Mentoring Programme with masses of energy and a wealth of experience.

Agnieszka Rutkowska has been working alongside Iratxe Puebla, our outgoing Chair, for a number of years. She has an excellent knowledge of CamAWiSE and looks forward to serving our network of STEMM specialists. Commenting on her appointment, Agnieszka said:

CamAWiSE was the first community I discovered when I moved to Cambridge, and it has been an inspiring place ever since. It is a vibrant and supporting hub for women in STEMM across academia, industry, and entrepreneurship. 

As Chair, I’m honoured to carry forward the mission of CamAWiSE’s founders - creating opportunities to empower women in science through mentoring, leadership development, and inclusive community building.
