The CamAWiSE Mentoring Programme aims to connect professionals from the local community in Cambridge, but also beyond, anyone with an interest in STEMM and professional development is welcome to participate.
The CamAWiSE Mentoring Programme applications have now closed.
The CamAWiSE Mentoring Programme launched in 2020 as a pilot, you can read more about the experience at the programme in this interview with Becky Hall, one of the mentors. Following the success of the pilot, we are running the Mentoring programme again in 2021. The programme runs for six months, from April to September. Anyone with an academic or a professional interest in STEMM can apply, independent of whether they are located in Cambridge or elsewhere. There is no prior knowledge of mentoring required to participate as a mentor and there are no gender restrictions.
Mentors and mentees will be matched using the feedback provided on the online application form. Participating pairs will be provided with documentation and support by CamAWiSE as they progress through the programme. Further information about the programme is available in the participant Handbook.
How to apply?
Mentors and mentees should submit an application online to participate in the Mentoring programme.
Applications must be submitted by 12 March 2021. This has now passed for the 2021 Pogramme.
Mentees must be CamAWiSE members for the duration of the mentoring programme (become a member by clicking here). Mentees and mentors are matched by CamAWiSE. A mentor can have up to two mentees, but a mentee will be matched to a single mentor during the length of the programme.
CamAWiSE will run an online initial orientation session at the launch of the programme which both mentors and mentees are encouraged to attend. The mentor and the mentee are expected to meet once a month; given the current social distancing guidelines, the expectation is that meetings will take place online but the format of the meeting (length and the medium for communication) is to be agreed between mentor and mentee.
