Are you new to social media and are unsure where to start? Are you a professional in STEMM seeking to build your social media presence? Join us at this workshop where we will explore how to effectively build a strong social media presence in STEMM.
A strong social media profile can provide many benefits for those working in STEMM: it can open the door for researchers to make new connections and collaborations, and it can also be a way to get visibility with recruiters seeking talent for new job openings.
At the workshop, a science communicator and a recruiter will share how they are using social media platforms and what the effective steps are to build a strong social media presence. The workshop will also involve dedicated discussion of specific case studies where attendees will gain practical tips to make the best of their social media activities.
Our speakers:
Anna Drangowska-Way: Event manager and science communicator with expertise in social media engagement with scientific audiences.
Sue Keogh, Sookio: Recognised specialist in digital content and founder of award-winning digital marketing agency Sookio.
By the end of this workshop attendees will:
Understand the importance of a social media presence for their professional path
Gain tips on how to start and strengthen their presence on social media, to maximize their opportunities for networking and to be noticed by recruiters
